Pegasus Reading Series is a monthly series presented by WordSpace showcasing writers in the North Texas area and beyond. Named ‘Best Poetry Night’ by the Dallas Observer in 2015, Sebastian Paramo and Courtney Marie host.

Presented by WordSpace, come join us for a special December edition of Pegasus featuring the dynamic poetry of Tamitha, the stunning prose of Kimberly, and the wonderfully exquisite debut of Jenny Yang Cropp! Followed by a performance by Lily Taylor, recently named as one of five best female vocalists by The Dallas Observer!!! She’s awesome and you don’t want to miss it!!

TAMITHA CURIEL is an actor, writer and educator. She has performed most recently in Palabra, The Written Word Spoken, with Echo Theatre in Isabella Russell Ides’ The Early Education of Conrad Eppler and Sound Culture’s She Bike Spoke Love. She enjoys performing spoken word with the avant-garde jazz band Swirve.  She is currently Outreach Coordinator for Writers in the Neighborhoods, the youth education arm of The Writer’s Garret.

KIMBERLY GARZA has earned degrees in English, Spanish, and creative writing from the University of Texas at Austin. Her fiction has been published or is forthcoming in CutBank, Bayou, and the Avalon Literary Review; her nonfiction has been published in Southwest, Vacations, Inquiry, among others. A native of Southwest Texas, she now lives in Denton where she is a PhD student at UNT and an assistant fiction editor for American Literary Review.

JENNY YANG CROPP is a Korean American poet from Lawton, Oklahoma. Her debut collection, String Theory, was published by Mongrel Empire Press in 2015. Her work has appeared in a variety of journals including Boxcar Poetry Review, Ecotone, Hayden’s Ferry Review, and Eclipse. Several of her poems were recently anthologized in the 2015 Nodin Poetry Anthology. She received her M.F.A in creative writing from Minnesota State University-Mankato and is a Ph.D. candidate in English at the University of South Dakota where she served for two years as the managing editor of South Dakota Review. She currently teaches English at Cameron University and lives in Lawton with her husband and son.


LILY TAYLOR has collaborated with dancers, performance artists, musicians, poets, fashion designers, and artists around the Bay Area and the state of Texas- exploring the art of Drag, dive rock clubs, vintage jazz halls, SoMA theaters, parlors, galleries, and underground venues of San Francisco and Oakland, CA, Denver, CO, Austin, Denton, Fort Worth, and Dallas, TX. Other projects include: experimental/ noise acts: Ulnae, Locations, XIOIX, and TF ; Hip Hop collaborations with Juicy The Emissary, Blue the Misfit, Joey Mousepad; Jazz collaboration with Daniel Fabricant, The Cottontails with Karina Denike, Drizzoletto and Octomutt; dance and electronic music collaboration with Brian Mayhall. – See more at:
