Pegasus Reading Series is a monthly series presented by WordSpace showcasing writers in the North Texas area and beyond. Named Best Poetry Night by the Dallas Observer in 2015, Sebastian Paramo and Courtney Marie host.
Doors open at 7PM and show starts at 7:30PM.
This month, Courtney Marie and Sebastian Paramo host Greg Alan Brownderville, author of A Horse With Holes In It (LSU Press, 2016); Jehanne Dubrow, author of The Arranged Marriage (U of New Mexico, 2015); and Sophia Terazawa, author of I Am Not A War (Essay Press, 2016).
GREG ALAN BROWNDERVILLE is the author of three books: A Horse with Holes in It (LSU, 2016), Deep Down in the Delta (Butler Center Books, 2012), Gust (Triquartely, 2011). He is a professor of English at Southern Methodist University, teaches creative writing and edits the Southwest Review. He has received several awards, including fellowships and prizes from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the Missouri Review, and Prairie Schooner.
JEHANNE DUBROW is the author of five poetry collections, including most recently The Arranged Marriage (University of New Mexico Press, 2015). Dots & Dashes, her sixth book of poems, won the 2016 Crab Orchard Review Series in Poetry Open Competition Award and will be published by Southern Illinois University Press in 2017. Her poetry, creative nonfiction, and book reviews have appeared in Southern Review, The New Republic, The New York Times Magazine, The Hudson Review, The New England Review, as well as on Poetry Daily and Verse Daily. She has been a recipient of the Alice Fay Di Castagnola Award, the Towson University Prize for Literature, an Individual Artist’s Award from the Maryland State Arts Council, fellowships from the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and a Sosland Foundation Fellowship from the Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies.
The daughter of American diplomats, Jehanne was born in Italy and grew up in Yugoslavia, Zaire, Poland, Belgium, Austria, and the United States. She is an Associate Professor of creative writing at the University of North Texas.
