Pegasus Reading Series is a monthly series presented by WordSpace showcasing writers in the North Texas area and beyond. Named Best Poetry Night by the Dallas Observer in 2015, Sebastian Paramo and Courtney Marie host.
We’re excited to kick-off Pegasus Reading Series on a new night. This season we will be hosting on the first Mondays of the month. This month Courtney Marie and Sebastian Paramo host Marie Denoon, Reverie Evolving, Darius Frasure, and Carlos Salas.
Doors open at 7PM promptly. Show starts at 7:30PM.
marie denoon is a farmer poet, aspiring mc. she has nothing published, nothing recorded. but she did start a tiny flower farm in denton this spring. aka rainbow sprinkles farm. marie is into writing poetry about farm things, hip hop and struggles.
REVERIE EVOLVING was born and raised in Connecticut and despite living in Dallas for the past 15 years, still yearns for the decisiveness of four distinct seasons. Reverie earned her B.A. in English Arts from Hampton University, and her M.Ed. from The University of Phoenix. She teaches writing to a group of angelic middle school children, who often inspire her creativity and sometimes moonlights with the Writer’s Garret. She has featured her poetry with Dark Moon Arts Poetry and Common Company and reads regularly with Bonehouse, Common Company, Mad Swirl, Poets on X Plus. DARIUS AJAI FRASURE, Professor of English at Mountain View College in Dallas, Texas, is a proud graduate of Paul Quinn College, Luther Rice Seminary, and National University. He is deeply involved in the literary arts and education community in the Dallas, Fort-Worth area, and his poetry has appeared in literary journals, The Manila Envelope, The Lion’s Roar, Illya’s Honey, Red River Review, and the Dallas Poets Community anthology, Cattlemen & Cadillacs. In addition, he read for season five of Dallas’ story-telling show, Oral Fixation (An Obsession with True Life Tales); he has one spoken word album, Spoken Pieces (2010), and one collection of poetry, stained glass medusa (2015).
CARLOS SALAS is the co-host of the Poets on X+ Reading Series at Lucky Dog Books. He can be heard reading at open mics, galleries, bars, porches, and can be found right here on Earth, 75208 specific. He lives with love and his beautiful wife-poet Opalina in Oak Cliff, Texas with their daughter Paloma, two cats Jack and Benny.
