About us: Pegasus Reading Series was founded and curated by the poets Robert Torres and Sebastian Paramo in 2014. When Torres left in 2015, Courtney Maries joined Sebastian to host & curate the series. In 2016, both poets joined forces to organize and curate Deep Ellum Lit Hop.

The mission of Pegasus Reading Series is to bridge together literary communities and writers in Dallas and across the nation.

KIMBERLY GARZA’S prose has been published or is forthcoming in Creative Nonfiction, TriQuarterly, Bennington Review, Puerto del Sol, Cutbank, Huizache, and elsewhere. Originally from Uvalde, Texas, she is a Ph.D candidate in fiction at the University of North Texas. She serves as reviews editor for American Literary Review and associate fiction editor for The Boiler.

MANUEL LUIS MARTINEZ serves as professor of creative writing at the University of Texas-Dallas. His novels include, Crossing, Drift, Day of the Dead, and Los Duros. He was inducted into the Texas Institute of Letters in 2013. Most recently, he was awarded an American Book Award for Los Duros.

CLINTON CROCKETT PETERS is the author of Pandora’s Garden: Kudzu, Cockroaches, and Other Misfits of Ecology, forthcoming from the University of Georgia Press. He has an MFA in nonfiction from the University of Iowa where he was an Iowa Arts Fellow and is a Dissertation Fellow, pursuing a PhD in English and creative writing at the University of North Texas. He has essays and fiction appearing in Orion, Southern Review, Texas Monthly, Hotel Amerika, Fourth Genre, Catapult, DIAGRAM, The Rumpus, Southwest Review, Green Mountains Review, Hunger Mountain, Waxwing, North Dakota Quarterly, Lake Effect, Upstreet, Canary, The MacGuffin, Fjords, Yemassee Journal, Blue Earth Review, Iron Horse Literary Review, The Dallas Observer, and The Denton Record Chronicle, among others.

NATALIA SYLVESTER is the author of the novels Chasing the Sun and ​Everyone Knows You Go Home. She studied Creative Writing at the University of Miami and is a faculty member of the low-res MFA program at Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Natalia’s articles have appeared in ​​Latina Magazine, Writer’s Digest, The Austin American-Statesman,​​ and Born in Lima, Peru, she came to the U.S. at age four and spent time in South Florida, Central Florida, and the Rio Grande Valley before her family set roots in Miami. She now lives and works in Austin.
